CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT AGRICULTURE (CEA)
Understanding today to plan(t) for a better tomorrow
With an eye on the future, Swanson Rink began research into controlled environment agriculture in 2014. Their goal was to help bring farming into urban environments in a way that would not only promote plant growth, but business growth as well. True to their values of engineering excellence and creating a legacy, Swanson Rink sought to help bring fresher food closer to home by bringing farms to more densely populated, urban areas.
Swanson Rink’s vertical farming team helps clients better understand their facility’s existing conditions and uses this information to suggest simple improvements in the facility to eliminate hot or cold zones. Additionally, our team goes further and offers Computation Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling. This allows clients to digitally model changes to their farm and estimate crop yields before purchasing expensive equipment or making modifications.
