Aviation

Denver International Airport Great Hall

MEP, low-voltage, and fire protection design for the multi-phased, $1.3B modernization of the Great Hall at DEN. The program enhances capacity, safety, and the overall passenger experience with new check-in and ticketing areas, upgraded level-6 security checkpoints, a revitalized central terminal and Concourse A walkway, expanded post-security concessions, and improved curbside operations.

Harry Reid Las Vegas International Airport Terminal 1 Modernization & Terminal 3 Re-Control

Comprehensive study and design services to modernize Terminals 1 and 2, including outbound baggage handling system upgrades. Scope included BHS engineering including check-in, bag screening, outbound bag makeup, and potentially inbound bag subsystems, as well as existing conditions investigation and evaluation, preliminary modeling and quantitative requirements, ROW metrics for an alternatives analysis, and development of 15% design documents for a preferred alternative concept.

Muhammod Ali Louisville Airport Federal Inspection Services Renovation

Engineering design services for integration of a new 53,000-sf Federal Inspection Services (FIS) arrival hall aligned with the airport master plan. The project provides swing gates, CBP processing, FIS baggage claim, and required support areas, plus 30,000 sf of apron-level space for airline operations, BHS functions, and mechanical systems.

Hartfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport Checked Baggage Inspection System

Baggage handling system design for Concourse E Checked Baggage Inspection System (CBIS) recapitalization, including outbound BHS optimization, system phasing, BIM coordination, and supporting MEP engineering.

Denver International Airport Concourse A West Expansion

Mechanical and plumbing engineering for 441,000 sf of new concourse space, including two new subcores, two international nodes with provisions for two future nodes, 11 gates, 15 holdrooms, and a full basement.

Los Angeles International Airport MSC South

Design of the baggage handling system, passenger boarding bridges, fueling systems, and ramp operations for an 8-gate, 150,000-sf new terminal. Scope included a new outbound baggage room, ADG-III capable boarding bridges, PCA and GPU services, potable water systems, and comprehensive ramp planning for aircraft and ground support equipment. The concourse was designed using off-site construction and to accommodate future adaptability.

Colorado Springs Airport Oversize Baggage Handling Systems Design

Load and capacity analysis of oversized baggage systems to support near- and long-term passenger growth, followed by design upgrades to automate transport between screening systems and outbound sortation carousels. The improvements reduced manual handling and enhanced worker safety. Additional scope included an automated bypass line from Zone 4 to Zone 3 and MEP, fire alarm, fire protection, and telecom design within the BHS area.

San Diego International Airport Terminal 2 East

Planning and design for reconfiguration and upgrades to the Terminal 2 East baggage handling system through the IFC phase. Following a program pause and restart, the work advanced integration of disparate systems and included development of an operational network security framework for the airport to use with stakeholders across BHS subsystems.

Denver International Airport Concourse B West Expansion

Mechanical and plumbing engineering for a 90,000-sf expansion featuring four new domestic gates, three levels (apron, concourse, and partial basement), and four holdrooms. The project also included 45,000 square yards of apron paving with deicing system design.

Spokane International Airport Terminal Renovation and Expansion

Baggage handling system design, passenger boarding bridge design, and apron planning for a terminal-wide program to unify the airport, improving passenger flow, and supporting future growth. Projects included the Central Bag Claim Hall, A/B and C security checkpoints, Terminal C Expansion, Concourse C West holdroom, curbside canopy, and associated apron/bridge systems. Earlier design work included simulations of existing and proposed security screening checkpoint layouts in Terminals A,B and C to investigate the value of possible improvements in overall check-in operations, particularly focusing on the TSA processes.

Bozeman International Airport Terminal Expansion

Engineering design for the terminal expansion, including automated inbound BHS, second-level ticketing, system load analysis, layout development, BHS controls and power distribution, and integration of IT, fire alarm, and security.

Sky Harbor Phoenix International Airport Baggage Handling Systems Commissioning

QA/QC, peer review, construction administration, and commissioning for the Terminal 3 Modernization inbound and outbound baggage handling systems. Additional engineering included BHS and ground service equipment planning for the Terminal 3 North Concourse 2 and Connector, addressing system capacity, impacts on existing CBIS infrastructure, spatial needs, and building system requirements.
