Hyperscale

Swanson Rink has been supporting hyperscale developments for almost a decade and we’ve seen the projects grow from single building sites to the mega campuses of today. With projects drawing over 500 megawatts of critical load, we understand the complexities and appreciate the uniqueness of every project. Active in almost all development areas, we’ve provided engineering design in Virginia, Ohio, Oregon, Mississippi, Georgia, Arizona, and Texas. From Master planning to Permitting, we provide MEP, Fire Protection / Fire Alarm, Controls, Telecom, and Security design. Additionally, we provide CFD modeling to analyze external dispersion of exhaust fumes along with environmental conditions to optimize site layout.

Retrofits and Expansions

Swanson Rink has extensive experience providing engineering expertise to clients looking to retrofit and remodel legacy data centers. With the ever-changing landscape of digital infrastructure and the continued increase in chip density, data center owners are consistently tasked with upgrading their facilities to match current industry standards. Our clients look to us to assess the facility and determine the optimal strategy to increase performance. Through our sensor deployment technology paired with advanced CFD analysis, we can get an in-depth view of your data center to determine the necessary changes and upgrades. Our experience includes increased capacity, added redundancy, conversion to liquid-cooling, hotspots and airflow issues, and improving PUE.

Colocation

Swanson Rink provides ongoing engineering support for several clients in the colocation space. From Due Diligence and Test Fits to Master planning and Design, we work alongside our clients to ensure that we meet all project requirements. With the constant advancements in technology, and the increasing demand of the industry, we pride ourselves in our ability to continually provide leading edge designs to increase capacity and optimize PUE, whether traditionally air-cooled or liquid-cooled for AI workloads. Our engineers are experienced in designing for all levels of redundancy and are well versed in industry standards such as Uptime Institute and TIA. We provide MEP, Fire Protection / Fire Alarm, Controls, Telecom, Security, and Lighting design for colocation facilities.

SCIF

Swanson Rink provides engineering design for SCIF spaces for the mission critical industry including data center, aerospace, and government facilities. We understand the nuances of these highly secure facilities and stay up to date with all requirements and updates. SCIF requirements ensure that all possible avenues for radio frequency (RF) signals are blocked with increased physical security. This results in changes to the design to include additional electrical equipment and unique methods of feeding equipment. Telecom cabling and pathways are installed in hardened and shielded pathways. Multiple redundancies must be considered and designed.
